Hi all.

I bought a battey nearly a year ago, the one the shop recomended for my bike. It never seamed to fit right in the battery carrier. It's as if It should have a tall slim battery and not the quite square (from side view) one which I have ballenced in there now.

Anyway I have neglected this battery and any attempt to reserect it have failed so it's time to buy a new one.

What do you guys in the know recomend?

Also if it the square type fitting battery I need, is there something missing from the carrier to make it not sit right?

Thanks in advance,

Greg78

P.S. If I could work out how to attach a picture then I would as it'd probably make more sence than my ramblings!

No it's tall and thin, you have the wrong battery.

9 Ah VARTA 509 015 (YB9L-B, 12N9-3B)

Most people will refer to it as a YB9L-B

£20 inc vat for a Varta one.. good battery that.

You'll need to buy some acid (£7.00) too.

If you click on 'Specs' you'll get the dimensions of that battery which is the proper one, to compare to your existing battery.

Changes are you most likely have an NC30 battery on there.

No trouble :)

Get a named battery.. Varta for £25 (inc acid) is probably around what you'll pay for a cheap on :)

I got a Bosch battery from halfords, the filling bottle was poor. You have to fill each cell individually rather than all at the same time. Was not impressed. Did the job though, seems good quality.

Bosch batteries are ok, wasn't aware they did a YB9L-B battery though, or was it you that has some other battery on there?

Ok cool :)

If you can't fathom out the cam timing i'm sure I can point you in the right direction anyway

The battery carries the following information.

Bosch
12v
9Ah
80A (EN)
509 14 (DIN)
509 014

Its the next one up in the range from this : http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165697

Looks like mine isnt stocked anymore oddly.

oh it's a 509 14.. The terminals are the wrong way around?

Postives on the Left when looking at the battery? It should be on the right.
