3en1 brake disc's
Hi everybody,
just after anybodys oppion as to weather these discs maybe worth getting :-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/YAMAHA-FZR400-FZR ... 3effd73d57
I've tried to find some new ones but cant afford EBC's prices.
I dont know wat the difference between the 3en1 and the 3tj discs are but it anyone can tell me i'm wodering it its possible to get some adapters made up or something.
I really didnt want to spend 120 on second hand discs that may or maynot be good or even fit, the ones on mine are well warped, so cant be any worse!

3EN1 discs are 282mm and 3TJ discs are 298mm diameter. What bike do you need discs for?Morespeedvicar wrote:Hi everybody,

Re: 3en1 brake disc's
If you try to fit bigger disks to the 3en1 the calipers won't fit.
What you could do though is fit the bigger disks with some FZR600 38mm forks which should fit your 3en1, you'll have a bit more braking.
I've a spare set of 298 (3en2 and 3TJ) disks for £50 + post if you want

Re: 3en1 brake disc's
Hi,
many thanks for the replies, i need the dics for my 3en1, I'm going to ask my mate who's got a milling machine if he can make a stepped adapter plate from some ali block. So i may well get the disc's off you evil, just depends if your in a rush to sell them?
Dont suppose you know if the fittings at the wheel are the same?
I'll send him an email tonight and see if he's up for a play, i need to take it round to his dad's for an MOT anyway, but if not the fork conversion sounds like a plan, as mine are pitted anyway.
Thanks again.
Cheers

The discs have the same fittings so they'll bolt straight on to your wheel and the offsets are the same too.Morespeedvicar wrote:Hi,

Re: 3en1 brake disc's
If the forks are pitted then I'd look to change then for the 600 ones - get a later pair. That way the money you'd have paid for the plates isn't waisted.
No real hurry for the discs
