bar ends nc29
Hi,
the previous owner had a small spill off my cbr and he snapped one of the bar ends off. Now I have bought new bar ends but they aren't honda. I've been told they will fit, you just have to get the "innards" out of the handle bar first....so I took off the bar end, put the screw back through and got a vice grips at it but no joy. Is there an easy way to do this?!!!
Thanks!

Re: bar ends nc29
even if you bought honda ones it would not matter if the old bar end had snapped off in the thread. they still wouldn't fit.
Inside of the handlebar you will have a small locater lug which holds in the threaded section. The only way I know how to do this is to remove the outer plastic sleave (bit under the grip) and look at it that way. Unless anyone else knows an easier way?

Re: bar ends nc29
Ive removed the inner weights out of my Clip ons. I did this by screwing a bolt into the threaded part, Vice grips and just really going for it.
They do come out as they are only held in by 2 rubber O rings, which are around either end of the inner weight, And fill the gap between this and the inner of the Clip on.
So my Clip ons are completely hollow, And im just running a pair of after market Motrax Bar ends in black. They aren't even weighted, Just flat bar ends.
Look sexy as with my Renthal Medium Grips! :)
Good luck matey, The "inners" do come out though, Just have to really tug on them.

Thats one way around it.
Or do what I did if you can, Take the clip-on completely off, Strip the switch gear and throttle slide/grips off so you dont damage them. With the help of a vice, a hammer and some gentle smashing. You will get them out.
