Jacking the front end up

Hi ,I am looking to remove my wheels for painting.
Question is what is the best way to get the front wheel off the ground. My last bike I could put wood across the frame and use a car jack, but with this little 400 the exhaust is in the way.
Any suggestions are appreciated
Colin

jack it up by the exhaust pipe under the bike, with the help of another person to hold the bike so it won't fall to the side, quickly place your car jack stands on the frame sliders if none then at the left and right crankcase covers....

I always just put the wood under the exhaust on my vfr400's and use a car jack on this. Works nicely.

On my nc24 I use a steel bar put through the top of the frame with each end on wooden packers sitting on two bar stools, lol. works for me, I can do forks, brakes, etc. this way and the bike is steady.
