Sure you havent disconnected something else, you should still get power even with the reg disconnected. Check ya fuses?

Did you disconect the battery, CDI, any of the clocks? is the bike in gear?
Do you have a voltage on the battery?

Can you test the battery voltage?
What is the voltage with the ignition off, and the voltage while starting?
Possible earth on the new connections to the regulator?

Did you replace the reg/rec as an upgrade or because you blew the old one? if you blew the old one the battery could be well past its best

The battery could be fooked, but It was a new battery recently.
Basically the original reg rec was
finished when I took that off I got the new
battery and put an upgraded Honda reg on.
But I think it was the connector that had packed in as it was pretty much
melted.
It still lost charge with the upgraded reg on so I've done the r6 mod and after riding home in the dark with low beam on all the way home, the bike died when I stopped at home.
I turned the ignition off and on and the battery was dead so I've put it on charge.
I just don't understand why the r6 mod hasn't sorted it.

this sounds very similar to my problems, I had one battery die of unknown causes, where it left me stranded after i stopped and wouldnt turn back on, a new battery and 2 months later the same happens, hard riding and hot both days. Checking generator all have perfectly within spec resistances but only 42V ac at 5000rpm(i should have used this information i think...). ANOTHER new battery and an old mc18? reg/rec fitted and within 70 km pop battery dead, scorched marks on the plugs.
So now... i have r6 mod done, and a new elextrex world gerenator waiting to go in.
will put it in this w.e however im still waiting on new rocker cover gaskets after doing valve clearances so depending on when these arrive ill let you know how it goes.
If you have replaced the battery and r/r theres only wiring and gennie left... 60 pounds for gennie to so not too bad...
