...i purchased HID light i connected them they turn on then the ballast makes a weird buzzing noise then turn off i know this is a long shot but does anyone know why or what to do

Sounds like they arent wired up right or the lamps are loose ?

its packet pre-wired all i had to do was connect active and ground. globes are in tight in the original bracket provided. any ideas?

HID ballasts and lamps have a short warm up time to achieve full brightness but should strike up straight away ?

I would double check the ground and live feed, most likely the ground.

I would also check anything you can that is a connection on the pre-wired bit, you occasionally find loose connections etc where its been assembled by some daydreaming dufus on minimum wage who doesn't give a shit.

Actually no, depending on how good the connection is they may make inrush current noise but not strike as they cant generate enough voltage to bridge the lamp electrodes.

How is the switch wired ?

It seems to be either wired wrong, bad connections or maybe a faulty part. No other reason it wouldn't work.

Have you tried putting a live from the battery to the switch connection on the ballast to see if it runs straight from the battery ?

no i havn't tried that, but i will try the active straight away it switched from my original headlight plugs so when the ignition is turned on the headlights turn on.

connecting permanent active to switch makes no difference which makes sense because i am using original plugs from bike so the switch should be perfect or my old lights would not work

If you have connected +12v to the switchwire on the ballast and it didn't work the ballast is broken. I can't clearly understand what you have done.

that is the lights i purchased...i connected the red cable to the red on the battery and i connected the black to the black of the battery...i plugged in the ballest into the original h4 socket on the bike...all the other connections on the hid system can not be plugged incorrectly because the pluggs will not fit anywhere else i find it hard to be a ballest fault because it is 2 systems same brand and supplier but are bothe causeing the same problem...i will try connecting a ground and direct active to the male h4 plug to see if it works but i doubt that is the problem i hope what i said makes sence
