Hi All,

In the process of buying my first VRF 400 and wonder if anyone can tell me if what the normal colour an NC24 should be, the one I'm looking at is mainly Blue ( yellow Honda Logo on Tank) white wheels / front mud guard & bottom of fairing. Also has a Red pillion seat.
Is this a standard colour scheme?

Many thanks

Phil

Hi Phil,

Welcome..

Have you got a link or a pic?

Sounds like a non std to me - but it is going to be at least 21 years old...might have had a change of clothes since it was first dressed up!

Std schemes you can see in the gallery section - for me, Red, white and blue or rothmans are the colours to have an NC24 in

Sounds like it could be original scheme.. they did one with a red seat!

Have a look there..

Pics of all models... you'll probably find it's an RJ-III (87/88) model if it has the red seat :)

Yes thats not a standard scheme.

Does it run yet? If it doesn't and your not familair with 400cc V4's you might find it quite a nightmare to get running.

That combined with the rarirty of some NC24 parts can make it quite expensive too.

You'll need to check:

Exhaust system.. a rotten collectorbox is going to cost you circa £150.00 to replace, IF you can get one.. you also have to take the engine out of the bike to replace it.

Regulator / Rectifier / Generator / Battery: These all have major problems but there not that hard to change.

Theres a few other things i'll type up when i'm home from work.

Don't be put off though, it's deffinatly worth having a look but I wouldn't value it at £600.00, especially with no mot/tax / not running.

Closer to £350 - £400.
