GK76A - Now running but not very well at all...help!

Hi all,

Well after finally finding the right CDI for my bike i now have it running - well, sort of!

It will start from cold after a few attempts, and with the full choke on. It will then idle OK on full choke for a while, but as soon as it gets warm it just stops running. Then after that its a really bitch to get it to run at all, and if it does its for like 5-10 seconds before it dies again.

Also i have fully rebuilt the carbs with new o-rings, and they are all set to standard settings. I boughta 'new' CDI from Hk which turing out to be crap and all it would do was backfire - this fouled the plugs a fair bit, could this be the issue?

Also if i touch the throttle at all, even a little it just dies immediatly!

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks!

i would say as a start the carbs need setting up. Idle mix. Balance. Idle speed. As you've had them apart they will be well out.

So you mean the pilot screw..as in 1.5 turns out?

I am able to balence the carbs myself so thats fine, and idle speed i can set as i go really?

idle mix at 1.5 turns is a guideline for new carbs with perfect fuel heights. I set my idle mix by egt and co levels so i can guarantee that i have the correct mixture. Was the bike running well before you took the carbs apart?
