How to check ECU/CDI?

I have connected battery up-side-down and burned man fuse couple of times. I suggest that ECU (Ignition Control Unit) could be burned, but not sure because fuel cut-off relay (that gets signals from same wires from ECU) turn-on fuel pump. So, I'm not sure - what is really wrong. But I like to check ECU condition as well.
Are there any possiblity to check ECU\CDI operability ? Thanks for any help.

I dont know how to test the cbr ecu but you can test them. You need to know what resistances you get between each connection. Some manufacturers put the info in the manuals so you will have to have a good google or compare to a known good one.

The manual does not cotains any info about checking CDI - thay only recommend to send it to dealer. Unfortunatelly our Honda dealer wouldn't like to deal with old bike and I think ever cheaper for me to buy spare ones.

if you knew someone who have a Super4, you can try its CDI. the connectors are the same with NC29 and the engine would run.
if that wont work, probably you have a busted CDI or a shorted harness.

The problem is that there is no spark at all 4 spark plugs.

Thank you mate. CB400SF more easy to find here than NC29.

Make sure you dont have a shorted harness or electrical when you try the cdi of the super four, or else you end up damaging the cdi!!! then you will have two CDI to think about!
I would suggest, try first your cdi to the super four.

actually, its not easy for the CDI to malfunction. I have a CDI which the sealer gum inside has been badly melted due to the battery over-charging, but its still functioning very well.

the picture of the melted sealer gum inside the CDI.

Start by checking if you got 12v at the coils which is usually switched by a relay- so check this also.
