I have the opertunity to swap my gpz for an nc24 so... Can anyone tell me what they are like? I.e handling, reliability, tires, how hard is it to work on, and most importantly what's it like two up?
Cheers,
Adam.

How reliable are the old Honda v4's?
The missus likes going on the back of the bike so must be good for two up riding like the gpz...

I'd say it won';t be as comfy as the GPZ...if the '30 is anything ot go by,
The 24 posse will be along soon and fill you in.
I'd reckon a well maintained honda will outlast most of us!

Pro's
Great handling for a bike that age, bullet proof engine, sounds awesome when warmed up and pushed on a bit. Easy to check valve clearances as they have screw and lock nut adjustment not the fiddly shims. Slightly more sit up riding position than the NC30 so easier on the wrists.
Con's
NC24s are prone to rotten collector boxes/rear downpipes and its an engine out job to repair or replace, also check out the reg/rec as they can go. r6 one will fit and work well though. Limited tyre choice as they have 16 front and 18 rear. Getting old now so spares are getting harder to find. Two up is possible but not very comfortable.

How olds the GPZ?
I'm going to guess at early 90's?
The NC24 will have the same 100/90/16 front tyre as the GPZ, but an 18" rear instead of the 16"
Little bit faster all around. Looks a bit 'nicer' imho.
It really all depends on the state of the NC24.. and by that I mean not just what it looks like.
As been said, there prone to rotten collectorboxes (expensive and time consuming to replace.. i.e. engine out frame)
The reg/rec / genny / battery can be fragile.
Best thing is take it for a ride.. offer your bike as collateral should you crash if if there funny about you taking it for a ride.
Honda V4's sound lovely.. pretty bulletproof too.
Power-wise there on par (60hp)
I was say yes.. if the NC24 is good (ie.. good exhaust system, good reg/rec / battery / altenator) and a world of no if it's got problems.
Christoph is selling his NC24 on ebay.. already spent £500+ on bits and its not running right so he's had to give up. They EASILY turn into a money pit.. and parts (depending on whats knackered) can be rare as rocking horse poop.

The gpz is a 96 machine tbh.
I think I'm gonna give the nc24 a miss tbh, however I'm gonna keep a lookout for an nc30 on swapz

better still if somone wants to swap a 400 (preferably a 30) for a more uprite bike then lemme know as I want another 400!
cheers,
Adam.
