Fork Seals

When out on my NC29 last night, I noticed some oil seeping from the right hand fork. My knowledge of forks etc is very limited. Is this expensive to get fixed and what sort of time scale should it take.

All help and advice is appreciated.

depends on if you do it your self of get a shop to do it.

shop:
1-1.5hrs work if you bring the forks on their own in.
2hrs if you bring bike in and they remove/re-fit to bike
parts; seals, oil- £15-20 max

on your own + a m8
2-3hrs
parts still cost the same.
Manual and lots of patience.

the old forum is still readable. there is a post about fork seals and tips in the CBR workshop section

I got a tool for seating the new seals in from Graeme and still found it a bit of a chore, would hate to have done it without. So my advice would be to get the old ones out yourself and then take the forks to your local garage and have them put the new ones in place for you. Shouldn't be that expensive since you'll be doing most of the donkey work.
