Are the washers for the 33bhp restriction meant to go in these rubbers???

Thanks all and apologies for being a noob

nope, thats the velocity stacks, the washers go in the rubbers that hold the carbs to the cylinder heads, remove the plastic bottom of the air box then remove the carbs (you dont need to remove the plate with the V'stacks on as there a pain to get back on)you need to slcken the 4 clamps that hold the carbs to the inlet rubbers and prise off the carbs, they can be a little tuff to pop off, once the carbs are off, remove the 4 inlet rubbers and pop a washer in each one ,put it in the cyclinder side of the rubber not the carb side, refit the rubbers to the cylinders and tighten bottom clamps making sure the rubbers are the correct way round as there is a notch in each one , then refit carbs make sure there seated properly then tighten clamps , chuck it all back together , bit of choke and away you go

Placement question answered but, are you sure that they're the right washers, I thought the correct washers had a sort of offset 'D' apature rather than a circular one :?:

They go in those rubbers (there covered in blue polyethen in that pic)

Those are the rubbers that hold the carbs on the engine.. as already been said.. undo the top jubilee clip on each rubber (leave the bottom one on, it holds the carb rubber to the engine) and pull the carbs off.. there quite difficult to remove sometimes and a block of wood as leverage helps no end!

If you take the side panel off and look in between the V at the bottom of the carbs you'll see the rubbers :)

Only having just taken some out of an nc30, I can tell you that they were underneath those rubber stacks, if you take off the bottom of the airbox and then remove the plate below (seen in the picture, be careful with the screws as they easily round out). place the restricters in the hole and away you go. Not quite the same place as suggested but it was certainly restricted!

thats odd, i have a fi international set of fitting instructions and it states they go in the inlet rubbers, restricts the bike to 100mph at 33bhb

Cheers lads.
Ive managed to lift off the carbs (well as much as the throttle cables are letting me) and i've taken out the rubbers and wedged them into the cylinder side.
THEN..... it started raining so had to cover her up.

How important is it to have them on the cylinder side? Ive heard people say they've just lifted the carbs up and picked out the restrictors which I imagine means the washers were on the carbs side.

Thanks for your help again chaps

Hadrian

PS. It is an NC30 :)

id say fit them cylinder side as there seems to be a bit more room to get a good fit for the carbs if that side is empty of the washers , not sure if it will make any diffrence performance or running wise, i guess thats up to you

AWESOME. I have them fitted and now the bike wont start. grrrrr. Ive had the carbs off and on about 3 times now making sure the rubbers are on properly. All the hoses are connected. There is one hose Im unsure about though. I cant remember pulling it out but its dangling lol. Its the one connected to the breather hose:

And I think this is right....

Is there anything Ive blatantly missed?? Im pretty sure I just reversed everything I did when putting the restrictors in. Apart from the first time I put the carbs back together because I forgot to reconnect the choke cable

Thanks all
