My Baby's got to go....ideas please.

Post by Chris 91UK »

Hi,

i will cut to the chase, well i will try!

purchased 91 RWB UK NC30 from my boss back in august last year.

mileage 16,041
bike had been sat in his garage since 2003, he had owned since 93.
laquer started to peel on tank and 5p size dent, no scratches,no rust, corrosion, this impefection on the tank really is the only downside to the bodywork, all panels are original and all are nothing shy of MINT.
the bike has not been abused, tampered with at all its all original. no cut undertray, carbon indi's, annodised pegs or any of that crap! undertray not been cut
only mod is a GIBSON can and what i believe to be aftermarket half system.

i brought the bike with flat battery etc etc.
i spent £400 receipt to prove, on plugs, battery, filters, fraont and rear braideds, new oil, coolant, brake fluid and a carb "service"

i say "service" as it was a MX garage and i dont think it was done properly. started fine when i came back but just wont fire now, probably killed the plugs or something.

i also went mad buying bits for it and have accumulated the below

full ETHOS system with carbon can, MINT not fitted still in box
full set of genuine RWB panels, cant be described as moint next to the originals but they are her "winter clothes" so to speak, still very tidy though.
MINT rear caliper, one on bike is mint i just got carried away
full set gold nissins with lines for the front, again nothing wrong with ones on bike i just brought these as they were gold!
brand new chain guard still in honda packaging!
VGC ZXR forks (thought about a conversion)
another full set of genuine mix and match panels
rear paddock
all kinds of original bits and bobs, far tou much to list but will do soon.
oh and a full single seat rear end, needs painting but in good condition.

anyway. i havent even rode it :o combination of no test and a fear of not wanting to total it. i had every intention of restoring/modding then just getting another one to hone the skills on!

Mrs has now informed me there will be a new baby in my life :( so gone are my dreams of owning a mint RWB UK NC30 in the living room as a showpiece

so as you guys are the experts i thought id sound you out for the best way to move her on and what to look for really,i know it takes 9months for a baby to arrive but it takes 2mins for an italian mrs to decide the bike goes so its gotta go.

ideally i want to sell verything as a job lot, but i will definatley not break the bike, may sell spares seperatey but not until the bike is gone.

now i know your going to want pics so for those who are interested msg me a e-mail and i will knock them across.

i absolutley gutted guys, i mean big time. was so chuffed to have a UK one and now i cant even have one at all.

i am in Farnborough Hants so if anybody wants to take a look give me a shout.

MODS!!! i didnt put this in the for sale section as i am lookingf for advice first and then i wil post up with pics details etc.

thanks people - he says while staring lovingly/teary eyed at the picture on my desk of the VFR.

Pictures....realistic pricing and then let the wolves at it.

It should be worth decent money so get lots of pics and show it off, clean as a whistle and then stand back and take some offers.

Sell the spares seperately - you'll get much more for them - stick an ad on here for us lot and if no joy eBAy them..you can be sure they'll sell.

Good luck with the new whipper...

thanks for the replies again guys, and thanks to all the well wishers too.

yes i need to sort out my picture skills so i will do so

i think what i will do is get some new plugs and get her gleaming, (as if its not already! all i have done is clean it for 6 months lol!) but will clean and then get them up here.

Matt,

thats a good offer and was going to suggest something along those lines, i am a genuine guy so all viewings welcome, free tea provided lol.

i will spend the next week or two (time permitting) fettling her and getting her ready for d-day,but basically guys she is up for sale as of this minute so if you know/hear of anybody interested then please bear me in mind, the longer this goes on the more tempermental the italian is going to get! think of a ferrari with diesel in it and and your on the right lines!

So you saying no tax / mot ? and not used for a few years ?
i reckon 2k maybe more pictures are needed to check its all complete with the right bits, if you had the old mot's and service book and manual that came with the uk bike then add another 3 - 400 quid. UK bikes are not that rare, good ones are, ones with all the right parts are rather rare, and ones with all the right bits and all correct docs are v rare.

Sell the bike first on its own, then sell the parts after. dont do it the other way around incase the purchaser wants a deal with the bits, if he does and the best are gone it might sour the deal, once the bikes gone then let the parts go.

hi gents/ladies.

just a quick update, this is going onto the bay in the next 48 hours. have been trying my best over the last month to find a way around it but there just isnt one!

have got some fresh plugs ready for whever buys - if!

did try to get somebody local in the know to get the carbs off and inspected but it never happened due to the guys schedule, by all means if there is anybody local who could actually have a look i am willing to pay and that way i may get somewhere near to what it owes me! if someone is happy to have a look please let me know asap and i will hold off listing on the bay.

this will be an absolute steal to somebody with a bit of know how on these, my suspicions are that when i had the carbs "serviced" for £400 that something didint go back in right, it ran fine on the stand for for 10-15 mins and now just refuses to start,as if its being starved of something, as i say somebody in the know is probably gonna find the prob straight away fix it and be laughing, much to my annoyance

if anybody wants pics before it goes on then by all means let me know and i'll fire some across to you.

deal is same as before absolutley anything i own to do with this bike has got to go, its starting to get me down now, broken promices, wasted money, moody girlfriend,,,kid on the way blah blah blah!

anyway enough rambling if any body is interested or has a spare morning after noon that they can commit as i say i am more than happy to pay for your time then please let me know.

cheers guys
Chris
