Knocking noise from front end, NC30

Post by Drunkn Munky »

Been getting a slight knocking noise from the fron end, done the obvious and checked for anything loose or in the way but found nothing, both wheel and head bearings seem to be ok. I can also get it to make the noise by holding the front brake on and bouncing the front end. the knock is always at the bottom of the fork travel so could this be bottoming out? Ive seen rick does an anti bottoming kit but im fitting his upgrade kit soon so will i need this anti bottoming kit aswell?
Only thing is whilst riding the noise is there but the forks are nowhere near bottoming out, any ideas?

Sounds like fork bushes.

A couple of layers of electrical tape on the inside does the trick.

On the inside of the guard mounts. Remove the clips and slide them up the forks, add tape and then re-fit. Jobs a gooden

My CBR600 was doing something like this, turns out the rubber bushes on the calipers were worn and the caliper was moving. Try wobbling the caliper with your hand.
