Running without a speedo?

As usual I've left it nice and late to get my bike ready for racing (next weekend at Oulton), got most of it done at least but got one questions:

I'm running in a 'Stock' class, and although I've been told I can use my Ignitech cdi with a stock map I think I'd rather go along with the full letter of the rules. However I seem to remember reading about a 'feature' of the stock cdi that cut the rear bank when it didn't detect a speedo, which is a problem seeing as my race bike doesn't have a speedo :p

Is there a way around this? guessing it's some form of signal between the speedo and the cdi? I've looked at the wiring diagram and there appears to be a solid green and a green and blue wire that go from the speedo to the cdi, something to do with these 2?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Are you running the ignitech?

If so, no problem.

If using the stock CDI you need to get a search for the restrictor mod where you fool the CDI into thinking the CDI is plugged in. Or, fit an M-Max box.HRC SP box.

The class rules state that the stock class needs to use the stock CDI, although I've been told I'll be ok with the Ignitech on the stock map I think I'd rather follow the rules exactly and use the Stock CDI, hence the issue as I was running without a speedo last year (no stock class) on an Ignitech CDI (HRC Map I believe) with no problems.

I'll have a look for threads about the restrictor mod, cheers :)

It's the green/blue wire.

Splice the wire (don't cut it), solder in a 2.2k resistor and run the spliced wire to a 12v source (battery +ve or other).
