Options for a leaky exhaust header/link pipe ?

So after finally assembling the bike and firirng it up, i have discovered that i have a blowy exhaust. It's the usual suspect of the join between the collector and the link pipe. I know this problem must happen to loads of us as the material used corrodes easily. What solutions have you guys come up with?
So far i think my options are:
1. Buy and new full system.. something i can't really afford.
2. Try and find a cheaper system on ebay... won't be that cheap and there doesn't seem to be many about. (apart from the one ethos system)
3. Take the link pipe off the bike and try and get it repaired... not sure how easy this will be or finding someone willing to weld new collars.
What do you guys think?

I asked the same question (I think) a couple of weeks ago here:

I rather like the option of exhaust repair gum+bandage+jubilee clamp because I can try it out in an afternoon and it'll be cheap.
Let us know what option you choose

Ok, im an engineer and this is not the best option but it has worked and since i don't have time to get my exhaust off welded en redfitted for a trackday in 3 weeks i think i can be forgiven.
So i was buying some new vacuum pipe for the bike, and i spotted those exhaust repair clamps for cars. They are like a thin roll of stainless with some wadding inside and a hose clip attached to the outside. Anyway.. i bought 2 and 4 more hose clips. Stuck them over the rotted collars, added the additional clips for strength and more clamping and its stopped blowing. :) Cost me £18 though which is a rip off but it was a quick fix and it will last for a while until i have them sorted properly.

I managed to buy a cut system with new collars already done, off a bloke called geoff (i'm quite sure he is a member on here) reasonable price too!
