Rear exhaust header/manifold

I'm in the process of restoring my nc30. I have bead blasted the rear exhaust headers and they are in quite good condition. My question is does anybody know what the headers were originally coated in from the Honda factory?
I was just going to paint them black in some heat proof paint but I also have a load of parts going to the zinc platers soon, not sure which road to take. Any advice/opinions/preference guys?
Tim

I know its a minor detail but no one got any input?! Like how does zinc handle heat?

They are the standard rear headers but they're not stainless. Confirmed it with a magnet. Think I will just throw it in with the rest of the parts to be zinc coated.

Ah the metal man is here :D
And as to be expected is correct!
It all depends on the type (grade) of stainless steel, some of them are magnetic.. often you find this in cuttlery.
For a simplistic explanation about them

have a look over that :-)

Do you mean the rear manifold that bolts onto the head (steel)?
Or the rear down pipes (low grade stainless)?
Neither of these parts were coated from the factory.

Sorry

, I mean the rear manifold that bolts directly to the head. I've bead blasted it clean and want to coat it in something to protect it.

Plate it and coat it in VHT exhaust paint (black looks nice!)
PJ1 do one thats really good for exhaust pipes.
