obvious questions...

does the engine turn?
are the sparks STRONG?
fuel line isn't pinched, and tap is open?
didnt over-choke and flood? - was the first start on the choke?

i just noticed that there is a kink in the vacuum pipe,

im assuming that when it started it was using the fuel already in the carbs and now it can get anymore as the vacuum pipe is kinked ??

well, after it stalled it tried to fire once more but i guess there snow no vacuum for the fuel to the carb so just turns over,

That's what I meant mate... rules out electrical problems.
if you're getting a decent spark too, i'd reckon its fuel problem, or carb setup/configuration.
(anyone else... can't think what else it could be?)

what were you working on between the first and second runs? its likely you've just knocked something off...

sort out the hoses and let us know how you get on... I'm off to catch some Zzz's - long day!

only one is sparking?
there should be a strong blue spark between the central and side electrode.

if not, check your HT leads, packs and central distributor.
for HT leads...
you can bite ur tongue, and hold each one while you turn the bike over (you'll get a small shock) or .. :D
put them in turn against a ground point (frame) and turn the bike over... if the leads area degraded, you'll see a spark between the lead and the frame.. if this is the case, the leads have broken down and you'll need to replace them...

sometimes even new plugs fail...

all plugs have a spark,

the bike does want to start, i have taken the tank off again and when i did this before there would always be a little bit of fuel in the fuel pipe, today its dry ??

but you have fuel in the tank? check that there is suction on the end of the pipe - disconnect the hose from the tap to the inlet on the carbs at the carb end - turn the engine over and listen or feel for suction at the end of the pipe.
