ok in less than 7 weeks time i will be married. i will not have my gift ready in time but i have still promised my wife to be that this will be hers. i have done a quick tot up and i reckon i have spent over 300 hours over the past twelve months turning this non running garden ornament in to a running ( nearly rideable ) bike, she knows how much love, sweat and blood has gone into creating this especially when i managed to put the angle grinder through my foot, that i hope will make her happy.

so the question is would you be happy if this was your gift?

when she passes her test she wants a 600rr, i wanted a nc30 - so we agreed to have a bike we can both like. has the looks for her, has the sound and v4 engine for me! she is quite short so the ride height is really good for her and i like a challange!

i have seen the conversion done before and have been told it can be quite a common thing to do, i also looked at the tyga kits think they look good but cost with the wedding again was an issue. i have managed to buy and fit all of the cbr panels for less than £300. though if i were to charge for labour then it would have cost a dam sight more than a tyga kit!

i have looked at some of the other '30s that have been modded to take cbr fairings and hope where some of these do 'look' like the body has been put onto a different bike, this seemed to show a lot when the rear fairing was fitted, i hope i have avoided this and it looks as if this is how she came from the factory.

I think the 600rr fairing looks much better than the tyga, not that the tyga is bad, far from it but the 600rr fairing just looks more........well honda

Good job too, i bet she'll be well chuffed with that

It's better than a toaster or a set of non-stick saucepans ;)

That's a great gift!
