I'm having a problem with my NC29 overheating and the fan is not coming on.

I have checked the fuse and that is okay, and having read the haynes manual I have found that by disconnecting the wiring connector from the fan switch and connecting it to an earth the fan comes on which must mean that the fan switch is knackered.

I have orderd a new fan switch but my question is....When I screw the new switch into the radiator do I need to use a sealant with it, and if so what do I use?

Sorry for the essay but any ideas about the sealant would be a help.

I would also like to know as just bought a used one off evilbay..

I'm guessing maybe a little thread lock?

Will check the manual before I do it..

I was thinking of using thread lock but would it with stand the heat from the radiator? That was my only concern.

Got mine through today, will check the manual and do as it says and report back..

I didn't check the manual in the end.. but after taking the old one off couldn't see any form of sealant or thread lock so just put a copper washer on it and did it up pretty tight..

no leaks

None needed.

If you really wanted to i guess you could put some P.T.F.E tape on the threads but there's no need.
