3EN1 frame, 4JH everything else.

Due to yesterdays court appearence I've found myself with some time on my hands. I've decided a bit of TLC for my 95 foxeye FZR600R is in order, so I'd decided on a frame down strip, clean and sort. Anyway the thought of a nice alloy frame was tempting so I looked into it, seems generally viable, and there is a 3TJ frame on ebay, which I gather is the popular choice. Anyway went to the local breaker to see if he had one but all he had was a pair of 3EN1s. However one has quite a few bits on it, and he offered me a very tempting price. So I ask, would the swop into the older frame be doable with the newer engine, or will it be more hassle than it's worth, evem for the very low price.
Googling around shows quite a few YZF600R engines in the frames with lower spars, however the lower spar frame has no provisions for the top mounts, is this because the top mounts are only there so the engine can be used as a stressed member? And therefore not needed with the spars, or are these conversions just negligent (or feature some kind of top mounts which I cant see)
Examples of what I meant:
