Starting issue.

Okay I've touched on this issue before in a previous post, but need some further assistance please. My wife's NC30 as a strange starting issue, when starting from cold it's a bugger to start and seems to fire on three, once it warm and moving it's fine with no problems at all, happy to then sit and idle all day. The carbs have recently been stripped and cleaned (by my brother in law, whose a bike mechanic), and he can't figure it out (he's work is getting a bit funny about the bike being there all the time) and has come to the conclusion that the coil might be on it's way out.?

Would be nice to get this sorted as after a long list of replacement parts, it feels like were almost there. The wife is now refusing to ride it as she worry's to much about being stuck somewhere with a broken bike, it doesn't sound right when starting it up (3 cylinders) and it seems to put her off.

Incase it helps we've changed the wiring loom, modified R6 reg/rec fitted, changed the rad fan, cleaned the carbs.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again peeps

Matt

Might sound silly, but have you put new plugs in it as they are rather fragile?

I agree. Try new plugs.

The old man had one about 15 years ago and had similar problems till one day it wouldn't start... had a mechanic down, testing coils, new coils / reg-rec etc etc.

He eventually gave up, another guy Honda who was familar with the bike came, new plugs and away it went
