Gk76 sp engine??

Hi all

I have the chance to pick up some sp engine parts. Basicly everything apart from the pistons and barrels.

I have a standard gk76 and I understand that the sp has a close ratio gearbox and different cams. Would I need to use the sp carbs or could I use the standard ones?

I am running a track bike so I would expect the sp to be a little better than standard??

Are the crank cases etc interchangeable?

Thanks

john

Hi John,
Im not 100% but beleave everything just swops over. You can deffo use the gears and if youve got the head should be able to fit the standard carbs as 'teamgsxr' fitted standard carbs bored out to 35mm when he couldnt get replacements.

Thanks

that's good news as I have just bought them. I'm trying to build an engine from parts and managed to get the crank cases, sp cams and gears with head for 99p on eBay. Just hope it's not a pile of scrap.

if your doing the swap your best option is to swap jsut the pistons and barrels from yours. The bottom end casings and parts are all size matched. swap a wrong part and bearing and you'll have scrap. Unles you have the number and colour codes to the sizings your flying blind. Without having your casings here i couldnt tell you what would swap over. HTH
