right im back onto the gixer ive sold the fzr and i want a toy, so this is the plan a: pull everything off the frame, b: throw away the frame/swingarm/anything else that can be made either better or lighter/more efficeint.
im going to build a new frame ducati trellis stylee and i might build a swingarm for it too not sure yet we'll see how the frame goes.
eventually i want to upgrade engine wise but i dont want to have to build the frame twice so i would like to know if another engine would bolt into the standard frame as that would give me a good idea of what i can get away with and what i can change to when the time is right.

i as i mentioned in another post all suzi motors from gk71fa - gk76 can interfit ther are differances but the base mountings on the rear of the motor from K705 - K706 - K707 - K708 - K712 - K715 is the same some motors like the K706/707 gk75 bandits and 708 RF400 use cylinder head mounts the gk 76 uses bottom of motor mount (gk76 and RF use K708/712 motors this mount which is by the crankcase crank bolts is narrer the the rest of the motors by 5mm on one side and 10mm for the other) and the gk71 and impulses use a front mount which again is the same on all motors all in all you can cross but almost any motor for any frame the only frames that would give you grief is the gixer 76 due casing mod by crankcase bolts (far left rear bolt shoulder 5mm shorter and frame mount off set) and bandit with RF need cylinder head mounts aside from that go ahead with this in mind you can build that you can fitt any motor you choose

I own a gk71f also and used to have a bandit 600. That motor definitely does not fit as it's about 4" too wide to clear the frame, also none of the oil cooled motors will fit as they are the same or larger. only change you have is a V twin with substantial modification. An SV 650 or even a TL thou motor would be immense and I'd love to see it done =) But basing the frame on a 400 motor and then changing just seems daft. Might as well make a totally custom bike. lol
