mates looking to get a bike and doesnt really want one with problems.
found one quite cheap but has a few problems.
rev counter wont work
and clutch wont disengage properly (frayyed clutch cable?)

just looking to see if anyone would know how to fix these things?

by the way i dont have access to the bike to start fiddling.

help really needed as bike isnt on sale for much longer

Mate! you say he wants a bike with no problems and then say the bike has problems.
The rev counter can be replaced or you can spend a little time finding a bad wire/connection-depends on the problem and the clutch could be a bad cable, goosed plates or most common problem is the bearings that go inside the lefthand cover that push the clutch push rod in fall out. Depends if its cheap enough to cover any work needed and if you can do the work yourself.

ha, well ideally he wants one with no problems but this one is very cheap and i think he could get it fixed and it still be cheaper than a decent working one.
the bodywork is A+ and everything else looks good, its just these minor faults, is the clutch thing an easy fix.

Even if the the complete clutch is goosed you can get one from ebay- the usual problem with the clutch is thers a cam situated in the casing thats turned when you pull the lever and its worked by 3 or 4 ball bearings, these fall out and you find them in the casing, the clutch now drags and carnt be adjusted properly.
If its the cable its simple!

most common fault with 76a clutches is people dont know how to adjust them. Remove the cable tension from the top. adjust at the bottom then adjust top last. Rev counters dont usually fail its the wiring that does. if a counter has failed gimme a shout i may have one here. or i know of a few in one of my stockpiles of 76a bits
