Removing rear hub?

I have been studiously following the Haynes manual to remove the rear hub and replace the shagged rear bearings and it seems to be stuck fast.

I have obviously removed the rear wheel, the hub nut on the sprocket side, the sprocket carrier and all the associated washers. The torque arm is disconnected and the wheel spindle is removed, the manual says simply pull on the brake disc to remove the hub assembly and then pull the bearing holder out of the left side of the swingarm. Trouble is I can't shift the hub assembly. Even much thwackage with a rubber mallet on the disc and spindle on the left side of the swing arm won't budge it am I missing something?

might be worth tightening hub pinch bolt on swinging arm and see if caliper mount moves back and forth with a rubber mallet first . its a tight fit but should move with the suspension movement had them seized on vfrs before , strange one disc and hub should come out then large circlip holds caliper mount then remove bearing holder. if your replacing bearings and seals anyway then using a careful bit of heat and penetrating oil might get things moving.

Expanding foam filler, stops the swingarm getting filled with crap.

Honda IIRC.

i got my bearings off Graham fracne, he cleaned and repacked them before sending them to me, even if you can order from honda you need a hydraulic press to get the bearing in an out. best bet is to buy a good second hand one, or at least one from a reputable person like Graham.
