Fitting a Race seat unit - it seems too tight to fit

Hi,

I have 2 race seat units; one is perfect to fit as it a small panel on the right hand side which clips off and on again for fitting / removal and access to the shock res. However I have another seat unit which is just one complete mould and I have tried to fit it but it is just too tight to fit.

I have been wondering if I need to take the petrol tank to make it a bit easier.

Anyone else had trouble with this type of race seat?

Cheers

When I spilt my old NC29 I had to fiberglass all the rear end up as all the brackets had smashed off etc.
This was an arse ache to get on and off.
I could do it with the tank on.

Just remove both seats, then sit the seat unit over one side first, then stretch the other side across and It should fall into place.

You have to put it on a bit back from the mounting points, Then push it forwards into place once its on the bike.

It's horrible having to stretch fibreglass, just knowing you're spider cracking the paint while you do it. Maybe you can modify it like the other one?

The one with the removable bit is a copy of the HRC one hence it actually works LOL

I have the same problem on mine BTW
