Gearing calculator - and so much more
Whilst searching for info on gearing and all things related, i stumbled across this
http://www.gearingcommander.com/
Wow!
The entry for the FZR400 is for the 1990 model with the 18" rear, but with a bit of fiddling you can change wheel diameter and tyre sizes. I've doubled checked the drive ratios with the service manuals and they look right, so have fun trying out various gear combinations
All in all a damn handy thing to have

Re: Gearing calculator - and so much more
Good find - that 1990 bike is probably a 1WG Genesis
Re: Gearing calculator - and so much more
I was impressed so i donated to get hold of the offline version. I was hoping that it would be a download that i could then offer to you guys for a minimal fee (
) but it turns out to be some sort of IE driven thingy so i don't think that i can "distribute" easily.
Oh well, never mind
I suppose i could offer to supply the graphs as pdf/jpg if people want me to put their data in
