I have had my Honda VFR400 nc30 since i was 20 and although she is an absolute state now i plan to do a full ground up build with lots of la de da parts. And those that know me know it means lots of money and time being an@l about the smallest thing will be spent.
I know what i am going to do mechnically to the bike but am quite stumped as to what paint to give her.
Ideas and/or photoshop skills would be helpful, give it a bash if you have the time.
The frame and wheels are def going black and the front forks going gold (ohlins).
I was thinking maybe something like the rothmans paint scheme as i love the classic racer look (pricey tho)

This is the Rothmans job I like...
Depends what you want doens't it? Are you going for a road scheme, a race scheme or endurance Jap scheme?
I personally like the AM/PM scheme and the core Honda RWB style.

It could be, or it could be an RC45? The look like RC45 forks & Kit.. dunno about the wheels though and I can't see any plastic air-ducts from the front to the tank.. The rears more RC30 shape bure theres no key hole in it.
It's a custom :D
Heres an RC30 rothmans.
You could always do it up like this...

Lots of Honda's do, but both the RC30 and RC45 have the VIN details fixed to the frame on a metal placcard in that spot :)
It is infact an RC30 though, with RC45 parts and even NC30 parts (headlight)

Guy who owns it website :D Sadly This RC30, and all of my spares were sold in July 2009.
I was right about the RC45 front end tho :D
This bike is a 1989 version VFR750R (RC30) K model.
It is a UK model - not a European or Japanese import. The UK models had an unrestricted engine, whereas the European and Japanese models had restricted engines.
I have owned it since July 1993.
It has never been raced, used only on the road.
I have had some great trips on the bike: for example, to Spa in Belgium (to see the 24 hour endurance race), and to Assen in Holland (to see the grandprix).
It has always been 100% reliable. It has never had a mechanical breakdown - or even a puncture.
The RC30 in its current configuration:
The fairing is a replica, drilled with air holes/vents for extra cooling.
The fuel tank is an RC30 original, enlarged and with twin chrome filler caps.
The seat unit is a replica, but it has an original seat cushion.
The Dymag wheels have been strengthened for road use. (Rear wheel 5.5 inch wide/17 inch diameter, front wheel 3.5 inch wide 17 inch diameter.)
The small two piston rear brake caliper is a replacement. The brake cable is specially modified so it can run through the swingarm (which has been drilled to allow for this).
The front calipers are "AP Racing" six piston brakes, with master cylinder.
The front discs are also from "AP Racing".
The front end has been converted to an RC45 setup (which includes upside-down forks, headstock and all relevant attachments).
The Ohlins racing shock absorber (with remote reservoir) has an inbuilt ride height adjuster.
It has a single headlight RC30 fairing conversion (using the NC30 left hand headlight and parking light).
The upper radiator is new.
The standard filter has been replaced by a K&N filter.
The standard nut and bolt set for the engine and front fork setup has been replaced by a complete set of titanium nuts and bolts.
The standard exhaust has been replaced by a Termignoni complete race exhaust system (in polished stainless steel).
The original RC30 rearsets have been replaced by RC45 racing rearsets.
