Depends if it had ever been commisioned or had just sat there..

A 20 yr old bike that has sat for a while will be in need of a full service, strip and regrease etc I reckon - lots of work..

I'd rather buy a minter that is run in...*

*not an IL4 either way... :kneel:

A brand new 0 mile 400 ready to ride would probably be one for the collectors, I reckon someone would throw £10,000 at it to have in there showroom...

Well, if your a pretty wealthy japanese bike collector and a brand new 0 mile untouched 400 import came up for sale I would of though it would be a bit of a messy pants moment dont you think?

nah, i dont think so sorry. perhaps if a uk spec NC30 then worth a bit then.
i was offered 2 new zxr400L9's 2 years ago for £2900 each in crates, i declined. took him a while to shift them in the end.
there was a new crated triarm here in chester around a year ago, he got 2500 for it.
i would be surprised if a new gullarm would raise more than 4k tops today.

:o I think you'd be mad to spend £10k on it. £5k tops, commission it and ride the bloody thing. You'd have to be stinking rich to spend that kinda money on a CBR 400 to sit untouched in your private collection that hardly anyone is going to see. I can see the point of putting it in a public museum but im sure there's already a few doing that.

i worked for a guy who bought a limited edition Ducati 11 years ago. he built a glass case in to his office wall and thats where the bike sits to this day!
