Fzr 2TK Questions
Hey there, after my 3tj compression problems i finally went and got a new bike, i now have a FZR400 2TK =]
Just a few questions though;
What oil does it use/Whats best for it?
What are the carb settings for it?
Where can i get a manual for this?
And does any one know a decent website for parts?
Thank you very much =]
Danny

Re: Fzr 2TK Questions
The 2tk is more or less a 1wg genesis with a few tweaks..... they only made a few so I doubt if you'll get a manual in english for it. If you get one I'd love a copy ;o) I have a copy of the 1wg Genesis on pdf somewhere I think.
Si (http://www.madsi.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) has made a good site about his.
Fowlers in Bristol are probably the best for original parts if they are still made (you'll need your frame number or they get a bit narky). Most parts are identicle to the 1wg genesis so I sometimes give them that frame number instead and take the risk ;o)
Wemoto.com do a few pattern/ consumable parts as well and are pretty good.

Okay, Cheers for that =] So would the genesis carbs fit? im guessing it could be cheaper to buy a new set then get this set refurbished? and also on that site is says 10W 50HD oil is that the correct oil or is that some sort of racing oil?
ALSO does the 3en1 parts fit like carbs etc?
Cheers for your help

Re: Fzr 2TK Questions
The 2TK is actually the 1WG model SP (Sport Production) ... 1987 I think.
It was more like the 3en series than the Genesis having the EXUP an all.
Carbs from a 3en1 or 3en2 will fit and probably be about the right set up, yes it's far cheaper to fit these than get your reconditioned - you can always check the settings on the old carbs and see if they match the new ones.
Use 10/40 semi synthetic oil it will be fine for road use an remember oils have moved on since the time manual was written.
You can fit Yamaha Blue spot calipers to your forks I think ... just check the mounting bolt spacings are 100mm

Re: Fzr 2TK Questions
One of the sticky threads has links to downloadble manuals on the web. If you can't find a specific one then use a 3en manual.

The exup bit on the 3en manual might help you for the exup bits, but I would get the 1wg genesis manual aswell for all the chassis, forks etc.
I have both the 1wg genesis and 2tk bikes
I think the manual is called the sac model strangely....if you have any problems drop us a line

And front end too by the look of it ... none of the FZR's had upsidedown forks.
Ignor what I said about the brake calipers.
