sorry to repeat the question but....
running with standard rad at the moment but bike runs hot into the red on temp gauge
what rad is best for upgrade heard off these:
cbr 600 fx/fy
blade rad late 90s
R1 rad late 90s
bike is a race bike running g france ram air scoop so space is tight between wheel, exhaust pipes etc.
what are the rest of you using.

cheers Mick

Not sure what my radiator is, but it's way bigger than standard. My headers are, I'm told, HRC, which drop down earlier than the stock headers, allowing a much bigger radiator without fouling the front wheel. Only had it since August, but not got anywhere near too hot on track days, race practice or race days.

A mate runs a standard radiator on his NC29, and we've done some practice and race days together. He has run hot a few times, whereas mine sometimes needs the edges of the radiator taped up.

I'll see if I can find out what radiator I'm running. Won't see the bike till the weekend, have last Broadford practice day for the year coming up.

I have in stock a new in 09 Genuine CBR400 NC29 HRC Kit radiator - super mint - £350

Plus an excellent used full HRC exhaust system complete with the correct genuine HRC end can - recently reconditioned - £400

They bolt simply bolt on - being complete with all the genuine HRC fixings / lowering brackets etc.

The headers are made to run very tight to the head to allow clearance for the rad - both are designed to go with the ram air as a package.

Will do both items for £750 delivered if interested.

Cheers

there's 2 ways you can go at this. bigger radiators or water pump. at first i went the big radiators, RB radiator (2x as thick as std), keeped overheating still. stuck a ktm125 dirtbike radiator in behind the RB radiator aswell. didn't test in that state from memory but im not sure, maybe i did??. but also added an electric waterpump. which dramatically droped water temp.
adding big radiators is good, but im not sure its 100% needed. water circulation made the most impact. and is the cheapest option aswell.

Paurs fitted a CBR600 f2 rad I'm sure he posted it on this site. Your racing it are you ? Otherwise check your thermostat and pump you might have a problem as I use the stock 400 rad on my 600 with no problems.

I'm using CBR600F2 radiator - it's almost bolt on, but need to play with fan fitting and mounting shorter than stock NC29 radiator. This radiator is 20% bigger... here is comparison between cbr400 rad and cbr600f2 rad

I'm going to try cbr600rr07 rad and let you know will it fit or not.
