hey hey ;)

has anyone ever heard of putting an nc24 engine in an nc30 frame with nc30 carbs
i heard guys that race on track do this because the nc24 has a shorter 1st gear

does the nc24 engine have better performance over the nc30 engine?

would like to read your guys comments

Not heard that before, and I don't think that the 24 engine goes easily into the 30 frame.

You don't want a lower gearbox for racing, you want a closer ratio gearbox (nc30).

Usual racer combo is a 35 engine with a 30 gearbox. Carbs are up the individual, 30 carbs will make higher top end hp, 35 carbs are much easier to setup and will be near identical in club racing.

No - you'll be thinking NC35 engine which is pretty much the same animal and is an easy fit.

The NC24 is a 400cc V4 but has a 180 degree crank for starters

It's still an NC13 Engine though so I doubt the mounting points are that different ;)

I'd prefer the 30 frame over the 24's though given the choice.

The NC35 has a different mounting points as the frame was changed to alter balance.

If anyones got a picture of an NC30 engine i'll measure the mounting points on an NC24 engine as they 'look' like there in the same place as the 30 engine ;)

The difference fwiw between the 180 and 360 crank is the 180 is smoother, the 360 or 'big bang' gives very slightly more power[1] but more to the point it gives the tyre more time to recover in between power pulses.

Apart from the mounting hole by cylinder 3 there isn't much difference. Shouldn't be too hard to fit the engine in :)

The 180 firing order also seems to run cooler (only 1 rad needed) both bikes produced 60bhp too so *shrug* :)

The nc24 rear exhaust headers might not fit into the 30 frame very easily, hard to tell.

If your putting it in a 30 frame use the 30 exhaust ;)
