How to make my stock exhaust slip-on?

Can someone please help me?

Ive only just started riding my vfr400 NC30 and cant seem to get an answer from any of my local bike shops on how I
can make the stock exhaust set up to be able to fit a new can to it. Do I get the stock system cut in a certain spot and
then just bolt on a new can or what?? I cant really afford to buy a whole new system for the vifferr, just a can to make some
noise would be great, oh and modifying the stock muffler would sound like a bad idea to me. Ive had a look at the stock exhaust
and it seems to be one big complete piece. So yer, help me please fellow 400 riders...

Cheers

If you have a stock exhaust thats in good condition DO NOT cut it up to fit a different end-can.

Good condition original exhausts are getting harder to find and will be worth lots of money one day :)

And yes you would need it cutting but dont do it!

Pick up one thats alredy been cut :P

Theres your best bet mate, £50 for a pre-cut repaired system, then you can pay anything from £100 to £300 for an end-can and you've got yourself a pukka 'zaust and you havn't arsed yours up

Thanks for your help guys. From your advice I've decided I wont cut up the stock system, I'll contact
this guy selling the pre-cut systems and I will hang up the stocko in the shed.

Is it a big / hard job changing out an exhaust system on the NC30?

Cheers :)

Thanks Neo, Im just busy hunting down a 2nd hand full system now. Failing that I will be going back
to buying a pre-cut system. Any ideas on what a full system 2nd hand should be worth with a can
already attached? I really like those systems I've seen on eBay with twin stack cans on em, but they
are worth half of what I paid for my bike, lol.

Cheers,
Darren

In Australia they aren't worth anything because we have no use/need for standard cans. I've seen several NEW stock systems not sell for 50 quid.

I say cut it!!

You won't regret it ever, especially when you hear the sound an aftermarket can makes!!
