Also for those who want to mod their headlight units to accept H4 bulbs with out butchering them.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS FOR THE NC29. i do not know if this will work on a NC23! nor will i be responsible for anyone who feks up their headlights!

I think its worth noting as the picture above shows that the K rating does not mean they are more powerful, its the colour temperature of the bulb, so as the sun is around 5500 K on a sunny day you wil find that 6000k is the closest being bright white but if you find that too harsh (as its more of a photo flashgun temp) go for 4500k which will give a slightly warmer tint. Go higher you will get that familiar blue light that most boy racers tend to go for.

what dimensions are your ballastsas the ones i am looking at getting are a slim version 13mm depth 64mm width 85mm length? Are they much smaller than the ones you have?

Do the ballasts not need a flow of air running over them i.e do they get hot? reason i'm asking is will they be ok mounted as you are planning on doing by putting them under the seat.
Was the wiring from the ballast to the bulb long enough and from ballast to wherever they get the positive/negative feeds from or did you have to modify them?
Cheers Karl

they dont get hot, its a myth.
the kit i bought were designed for a car, so some of the loom is long (well hidden wrapped around the headlight brackets!), but i will need to cut/lengthen some if not most the wires. i will be soldering (with lead solder!) every joint + using glued heat shrink to seal the joint. + test to make sure it works!

soooooo... here we are again.. lol
Rode home in the dark this week. i must admit i am kinda disappointed..!
My lights dont seem as bright as they used to be. they dont light up as much of the road as before...
so.. this leads me to one conclusion.. the ballasts break down over time! why the ballasts? i replaced the bulbs 3 months ago like for like temperature. even before i replaced the bulbs i did notice a drop in light.

soooo... i am back at checking out Ebay for HIDs.. there is far more choice than when i 1st did this...
i want to get the slim basalts (old 10cm long x 3.5cm thick, new slim 8.5cm long x 2.5cm thick), same Hi/Lo bulbs (H4-3) and same colour 4-6000K
the ONLY thing i dont like is the fact i would be buying from China/Hong Kong!

Also... i have noticed that you can get 35W or 55W ballasts....
I have found that i can hot swap my old ballasts for slim ones and leave the original bulbs etc in place.....

whats the difference in 35W or 55W?
the 55W are brighter than 35W... and its only the ballasts, the rest of the kit is the same.
