Oredered a set of carbs off ebay as a spare set, arrived this morning and they have the four short trumpets on. Are these better than the old type? (2 short, 2 long trumpets) Is it just the trumpets that are different?

Chris.

Graeme told that 4 short is better, but I also read on this forum that 2 short\2 long is better.. So, choose what you like :)))

Chris, if you're going to go ram air at any point you'll need the short trumpets, other than that I have no idea what the difference is, despite Francey explaining it to me!!

Shorties are for high rev efficency
long ones for lower rev range efficency

4 shorties will optimise the inlet lengths for high rev running..

I reckon..lol

As CMSMJ1.
I dont think honda ever did 4 short its just a common mod hence I sold the wife's bike with 4 long ones.

I noticed mine had 4 shorties and assumed someone had changed them but the parts manual shows 4 shorties for the R model and 2 long, 2 short for the L, N models, page 57.

So for a track bike this might be the best option even without ram air?

Marty, you really should pay more attention! :poke: :tits:

Sorry guys never come across a R as I don't know anyone with that much money.

Defiantly 4 short if you spend most of your time over 10K.
