Whining faint kinda siren sound....?
Whining faint kinda siren sound, and I wouldn't mind right now if it was a cop......
got this strange noise coming from my engine, no change in performance, but is slightly worrying.
I just wish someone on here lived in my area, so I could meet up n let em hear it, my mates say they can't hear it whilst riding next to me (prob because of my ART can with no baffle
) but I can surely hear it whilst riding although it is very faint.
anyone had any experience with this strange kind of sound....?

Hi Q007,
you need to narrow it down a bit.
Do you get the sound only when the bike is moving ?
Does the sound change in different gears?
Does the sound change when the clutch is pulled in?
Does the sound change when going up a hill ( load on the engine)?
you need to narrow it down a bit.

pmsrofl at some of those, thanks guys.... have tried a few things like pulling in the clutch n killing the engine rolling down hill etc...it's def from the engine as it stops with clutch in, engine killed rolling down a hill, but is not present whilst stationary on tickover in neutral. just really difficult to narrow down much more than that... just hoping it won't be a catastrophic failure anytime soon.... as i really don't need another repair bill after just doing tyres, front disk's n calipers....

Try tickover in neutral with the clutch pulled in. Then up the hill in each gear.
It could be the clutch .... is the cable adjusted and is the adjuster for the biting point (on the sproket cover) right in ???
