Carbon air tubes
Forum
Just recently fitted my new carbon tubes (air ducts) from Jap 4 performance but the LH side tube is too close to the LH wing mirror bolts/nuts causing me some concern about them cracking with vibration?.
Going to cut 5 mil off of the thread to be on the safe side but has anyone else experienced this also ?.
Just bought new wing mirror's from david sliver and there bolt's too are rubbing the side of the LH tube also
Just wondering if maybe I've maybe got issue's with my front fairing's being mysteriously out of shape and causing this too happen ?
Any info or guidance would be great.

Re: Carbon air tubes
Non original mirrors should not have excess thread. Well mine have not anyway, the nuts are capped. If they are held on with just a nut, i can not see shortening the thread will do any harm. Check to see if the instrument mount part that fits into the fairing is bent in anway as this can put the fairing out slightly. Will not be anything big. Could also just be the screen brace which is easy to bend back into shape if it's out in anyway. Both of these problems have happened on mine, Fixed with a light tap of a rubber mallet

Re: Carbon air tubes
My replacement mirror bolts were too long so I cut about 8mm off each so that I good finish them off with stainless steel dome nuts.
Works a treat, just make sure you dont cut them too short so that the nut cant get a grip
