Re: How much 3TJ?
I paid £700 for mine. Body was mint but it needed some minor mechanicals sorting like fork seals and the brakes were cr@p.
£200 for the conversion to a FZR600 4JH (I got very lucky with a bad looking engine & runing gear job lot that turned out OK and I got a set of Delvelick SS pipes when they were going chep on ebay last year) and got £250 for the engine from a local lad who blew his motor up trying to keeping up with his dad's ZX-12R.
OK, I've spent some money on a decent shock and nicked a few bits from my parts bins that probably come to another £100 but I've still got a good looking bike that will outrun my FZR1000EXUP on a normal "racetrack" for about £850 (plus the time, but that's free right

Mine was £435 on the bay, it was a bit damaged ...

Cost a few quid to put it on the road
£100 for bodykit and light (which it needed)
£100 for wheels, tyres and discs - I sold the discs for £50
£30 front subframe
£45 new DB screen
£30 clip-ons
and about a £100 for "bits"
but then I started to make it better ....

Re: How much 3TJ?
Got my road bike of ebay for £460 as a non runner. Bought it with the intention of doing a 600 conversion like my trackbike.
As a stopgap i got it going again.
Replaced the exhaust £50
Replaced all the valve shims £30
Replaced the rear caliper £25
The engine has done over 50k kms and sounds as sweet as! I love it. Done more miles on it this year than on my aprilia (which is in bits atm)

Re: How much 3TJ?
All a lot cheaper than i thought! You guys have cheered me up.
I've bid on a few on ebay but only upto £750ish as i hadn't looked at them first and wasn't sure what i would end up with.(can be a costly mistake i know.)
I was hoping to get a nice tidy one for around £1000 that i can run around on while i collect the bits for a 600 conversion.
I would also do the brake lines and sort the suspension out as well as 20 year old shocks will be f****d by now.

Re: How much 3TJ?
You should get a very tidy model for grand on the bay.
If this is a road bike then have a look at the R6 shock conversion - do a search on this forum.
Strip the standard forks and renew the springs and or add heavier oil.
Clean the calipers fit HH pads (I use EBC) a set of braided lines and a Radial master Cylinder

Re: How much 3TJ?
Yeah i'm going to use it on the road but will also do a few track days too, k-tech aint too far from me and a set of thier springs for my nc29 was only £70 so maybe go down that route, or try to get some sp forks and get them rebuilt by k-tech for more adjustment. Now i've saw what you guys have paid i might hold out for a cheaper bike so i have more cash left to play with, although from what ive seen while looking i could pay £500 for a shed or £8-900 for a tidy one and if i go the cheaper way it will cost more in the long run. What bike did your master cylinder come from or is it a after market job?Evilchicken0 wrote:You should get a very tidy model for grand on the bay.

Re: How much 3TJ?
It's an aftermarket - Brembo cast (silver logo) jobby

Although I enjoyed taking the bike apart sourcing the parts and rebuilding it I'd say to pay a couple of extra £££ and pick up a good one. They're a really good bike and they still work out as much better value than the other 400's

Re: How much 3TJ?
I like the look of that
.Anymore pics of your bike?
I think i'm better off getting the best example i can, that way i wont be thinking "i wish mine was as tidy as that" every time i look at someone elses, and trying to tidy up a tatty one can be costly.
