As i had a crash a few months back my rear sets got abit boshed! so ive eBay'd the CBR400 original, When i fitted the brake i had to change everything, not just the foot hanger and rest, So I attatched the hose onto the rear brake and filled up the empty resivoir, Started pumping it through but the rear brake doesnt seem to be working! :(

Oh! and i removed the hose that connects to the rear brake and made sure when i pressed the brake it was squirting fluid out! and yes... it was :|

Thanks. Mike.

sounds like you need to read up on bleeding brakes. You have to purge all the air out the system or you will ust copress the air bubbles and not push the pistons out.

It can be a ballache on your own unless you have 3 hands...

Easiest way is to get a brake bleed kit as it will push the fluid through and force the air out. Either that or a big syringe.

I have had some success in the past by bleeding air through the banjo bolts on the hose. Pump the system up as normal, hold the rear brake on, and just back off the banjo bolt a little.

It's a ball ache of a job alright.

someone on here had a similar problem. did the caliper you got sent have the rubber cap on the nipple - and have you checked that the nipple hasnt been massivly over tightened and crucxhed the little hole that allows it to allow fluoid thoug?
bleeding brakes shoud be bloooody easy.just make sure you get some clear hose rather than let the run of - run down the caliper (not good to let it get onto the pads etc)
