Last night I had a dream I was gonna let some kid ride my bike. He moved it about 2 meters and then couldn't keep it upright anymore, and dropped it on the ground, cracked the fairing. Dreams are weird... when I thought of my bike now I almost believed the fairing was cracked :) thank god not.
In my dream I told him "since you can't move it 2 meters without dropping it, you'd be a big danger to my bike and to yourself if I let you ride it.

When I bought my bike the mechanic said "no test rides". "if you want a test ride, put the money down."
Test rode another bike for a friend after that when I was still quite fresh, just climbed on it and went for it expecting it to be and feel exactly the same as my bike... crashed hehe. The guy said he felt bad because his brakes didnt work well. I don't really know what happend, it was a blur. Inexperience was the main factor.

Now I'll only let a good friend whos well seasoned ride it. And i'll remind them to take it easy as they get a feel for the bike.

I swap bikes with my mates quite often, although theres some people even tho there your mates i wouldnt trust with my ride. Obviously insurance helps and trusting them to sort you out if things go pear shaped, If i binned a mates bikes id pay up without question.

I have let many ride the RC30 and the Ducati, depends on who wants a go, doesnt take long to work out if thier a loaded weapon or not

Often at our Sunday morning RC30 meets someone asks me to try their bike, to see how it rides compares to others, as I have ridden 20 or so.

We often swap bikes during the ride, it is a good way to try new stuff, but we then ride together on a familiar route, at a sensible pace.
It has given the chance to try a few RC30s, and NC30, RC45, R1, SP2, and Buell.
Those riders of bigger bikes, are always impressed the way the NC30 goes.

I'm quite happy to let others ride my bike so long as I know them and are actually capable of riding at a competant level, most of my mates have ridden my bike, psychosomatic even borrowed my bike as his day to day transport for a fortnight. But that said I know a couple of people who want to ride my bike who never will as I don't trust their abilities on a bike.

Mind you I have traded it to ride some interesting bikes... most notables for one reason or another being... 2003 CBR954RR Fireblade, 1992 GSXR-1100 Turbo and an RC30 :)

I would let him loose on my 30, as I am sure that he will help me fix it if broken.

I'd let most of my mates ride any of my bikes and in return I've had the chance to ride a lot of other bikes.
