When pushing my bike in neutral while its off I hear a sound like the brakes are dragging, though its easy to push. How normal is it to hear that?
I'm wondering how much it influences fuel consumption...
My fuel consumption is about a sad 12.5 km/l (29.5 mpg, 8l/100km) at the moment :) I know its a fuelling issue. Pulls like a MF.

29.5 mpg sounds fine to me....unlikely to get much more than 35 even if you ride really conservatively.....

The drag sound doesn't seem like anything to worry about. Get the wheels in the air and spin them by hand, you can tell much easier that way.

I get around 250km to a full tank and I nail the bike a lot.. (155 miles)

Tank holds 3 gallons.

Are the brakes new? New pads may rub till they have bedded in.

Jack the front up and spin the wheel by hand, if its easy enough to turn the rubbing is ok. It won't hurt to check the calipers slide properly and all the pistons are free while your messing ^_^

how do you lift the wheels? i saw someone put a big block of wood under the swingarm once by tilting the bike really far onto the kickstand, is that right? then how do you do the front?

i had assumed the tank is 17L, but the NC24 spec sheet says 16L.. i got about 210km as i hit reserve, and iirc reserve is 3L which would mean 16km/l actually (37.6mpg) is that right?

you brits are really funny. you invent the metric system which is so much better than imperial, but still use imperial for your roads and vehicles :) then you try to convince the americans they should convert to the metric system!... lol

Well the owners manual states fuel tank capacity 16l with 4l reserve

that leaves you 12l of actual fuel when you fill it to the brim.. the brim is level with the bottom of the filler hole.

Thats 2.64 imperial gallons (what the UK use) or 3.17 us gallons

210km is 130 miles, now assuming that you had filled it to somewhere near the filler hole.
