Your first V4 experience ?

Post by dave6970 »

How long ago did you get your first VFR or RVF400 ?.
I had a UK spec one in 1989. Reg No G901DNO if its still out there, sold it to get a full power Cagiva Mito, big mistake.
Various other bikes inbetween and then had a tatty NC30 as a trackbike in 2003,
Bought another NC in 2004, 1994 import in black/red,
Sourced another mint 6000 mile UK spec RWB NC30, kept it only 18 months then sold it on.
The 1994 NC30 I have now owned for the last 5 years and its used for trackdays and road riding.
Regretted selling the 6000 mile bike so bought a mint 1500miles SP1 to console myself

Bought my first 89 RWB NC30 in 1998 never looked back. sold it 2 years ago after buying a K plate UK bike with a load of history and service books which i still have.
Had 3 other NC30's in between, and got another i am building now, a RVF, a gullarm a GK76A and a bandit 400.
Only bike that i liked apart from each NC30 was the GK76A, apart from being a bitch to start it went well and i really enjoyed riding it even being a IL4. far more fun and quicker too than the gullarm IMO
Never took to the RVF either for some reason, sure it looked great but never rode the same as the NC, i still prefer the NC30 after all these years.
Got so addicted to the honda V4 i bought a RC30 5 years ago

I first rode a friends new UK nc30 in 1990 and could not believe how good it was.
I then bought a new RC30 the next year, and then 4 more later, but a few years ago I returned to the NC and recently bought another.
They are the best all round bike I have found, but of course I am getting older and the police more vigilant.

The first V4 i rode was actually my mates VFR800 VTEC however the first 400 V4 i rode was the one i own now when it belonged to simon before craig before me about 3.5 years ago Its an '89 NC30 in black and red. It belonged to tubthumped on here. F 101 LEO. I've also ridden an NC21 and an NC24 but i think the 30 is lovely. I'd like to try an RVF and see what they're like.
