Hi all Just a quick message to save you alot of time. If you choose to save money and change your shims yourself please make sure you block all the excape routes that the shim will find if you drop oine. Just done mine and dropped a shim straight down into the engine. Had to remove the clutch cover and the sump to find it so now i need to change all my gaskets too.

While im here anybody know where i can get my hands on some gaskets pronto. Been on david silver but there out of stock and want my bike for the weekend. Anybody help...

Yeah...been there...and dropped one in the sump too. The comedy being that I found on one the floor so thought this was it. When I replaced my sump (after stripping the splines off my starter motor) I found the shim in there...

Lesson learned.

Gaskets - I'd call Rick Oliver or Graeme France - they are usually good for the goodies

I dropped a washer down into my Valves when I was working on the Carbs.... a Simple magnetic pick-up tool down the inlet and it was soon out!

Once dropped a nut into the exhaust when I'd got the end can off. Forgot about it until I got a reminder as it shot out like a bullet and hit my garage door. Left a right mark.
