Recently as some will know I had a problem with the NC30 it wasnt idleing properly ( ie after some use it sticks around about 3000 revs and if I try to turn the idle down the bike stalls) and when on the road it backfires now and again and when hitting 8000 revs it kind of stops going any faster as if some one is pulling on the back of the bike
Anyway I spoke to Rick who told me to check vaccum pipe which it turned out was full of holes but because I broke the wee nut on taking it of I decided to just bung up the hole and do the HRC fuel tap mod and do away with the vaccum hose till winter when I will replace it I also got new carb rubbers of rick as I have had the carbs of and on again at least once a day in the last 4 weeks balancing cleaning and re balancing tweaking pilot screws etc but still no joy. I have also been reading Danzios post with interest as he seems to be having similar problems.
While carbs were of I have noticed my main jets are 110 all round and as I have a 1mm shim under the needles and have drilled the slides out could it be that I now need to change the jets
I hope some one can help as I am at the end of my tether all I seem to do is throw money which I havent got at this bike and fix one thing and some thing else goes usually a bolt or nut snaps as they are all made of soft cheese and I have just figured out that of the eight years Ive owned the bike its only been on the road for four so I am seriously thinking about breaking it up and selling if I cant fix it

What exhaust are you running?

You could go for a 115/118 jets without any issue as 110 is very lean as standard. Yours will be a 1989 bike then?

Funnily enough its not an 89 bike thats why I wondered as it seems to be made up of different bike years
according to the haynes the frame starts with an 11 which makes it an N code 92 and on model but the engine starts with a 12 which makes it a K code and also with carbs being 110 all round as you say then that also makes it a K code 89 model although it also has the later type forks and rear shock so am not sure but its a K registration which makes it a 92 model
I am running what I think is a yamamoto exhaust with an Over racing can which has been on for the last 6 years or so am unsure as to whither that would be the problem

He is indeed a top man Im just of the phone to him although it was engaged for a while (I thought it was probably Rhory) I have even known him to talk himself out of a sale before

Right after reading this post i'm guessing im havving the same problem and im sure its my carbs.

after doing some research im guessing as my bike idles and revs fine on quarter/half throttle, its going to be either a problem with the main jets, or something to do with the float bowls not filling correctly as its only at full throttle my problem develops, at ANY REVS. now, I have replaced my vacuum hose the other day as it was nackard, and made sure that the beather hose is in no way crimped or twisted/flattened etc and fed correctly to both underside and top side of the tank.

after doing these im still having the problem, now, i bourght the bike with a jap micron full system on but the bike was running top notch for the first 2 months of ownership so im guessing its going to be gunk in my carbs or in main jets, or float bowls dodgy, something along those lines..

anyway, ive tried to with no luck.. to get a video riding the thing for you guys but with me having an iphone (yeah i know, stupid... ) i only have a hacked version of a video recorder which dosent pick up the problem when either stuck to bike or helmet. have to lend my dad camcorder thingy for a proper go at it.

anyways, the problem i have with taking the carbs off is fear, fear i'll destroy the bike, and not be able to put em back properly..!

anyone know of an easy way to get at em and check these things on mine? Now lads, i say 'easy' rather loosely as i know there a pain, but im free all weekend as ive finished uni for the year, so now its just 5 days at work and my weekends off, meaning i have plenty time to tinker!

oh, anyone tell me how i check the size of my jets please?

Well like it or not mate,The carbs will have to come off,Don't be afraid of them get them off,
you will find plenty of help here,They will wil lneed a thorough clean an check of float hight.
