I feel a nervous breakdown coming

hi all
Recently as some will know I had a problem with the NC30 it wasnt idleing properly ( ie after some use it sticks around about 3000 revs and if I try to turn the idle down the bike stalls) and when on the road it backfires now and again and when hitting 8000 revs it kind of stops going any faster as if some one is pulling on the back of the bike
Anyway I spoke to Rick who told me to check vaccum pipe which it turned out was full of holes but because I broke the wee nut on taking it of I decided to just bung up the hole and do the HRC fuel tap mod and do away with the vaccum hose till winter when I will replace it I also got new carb rubbers of rick as I have had the carbs of and on again at least once a day in the last 4 weeks balancing cleaning and re balancing tweaking pilot screws etc but still no joy. I have also been reading Danzios post with interest as he seems to be having similar problems.
While carbs were of I have noticed my main jets are 110 all round and as I have a 1mm shim under the needles and have drilled the slides out could it be that I now need to change the jets
I hope some one can help as I am at the end of my tether all I seem to do is throw money which I havent got at this bike and fix one thing and some thing else goes usually a bolt or nut snaps as they are all made of soft cheese and I have just figured out that of the eight years Ive owned the bike its only been on the road for four so I am seriously thinking about breaking it up and selling if I cant fix it
