Hi has anyone ever had any problems with second gear on their 400? Mine's a 89 import (twin discs) and is having serious problems with second gear. When it gets into second it seems to stutter then suddenly find power?

My 2nd gear is like it slipping, gets grip pull then slips like your letting the clutch in and out all the time so i just jump past it 1st to 3rd
think my cog is warn

If its in and out with no jumping then you got clutch slip but if its physically jumping then the second gear itself is knackered.

My VFR400 NC30 occasionally jumps from 2nd to nuetral! Don't know whether its me or the bike?
It normally does it just after changing gear when i begin to accelarate quite hard
