throttle blip problem

Hey all! 
Right, when im out and about on my bike, if i blip the throttle glenty say up to 3000rpm it will drop to about 500ish rpm then back up to 1500rpm (idle) or sometimes it will just cut out!
If im in slow moving traffic and just moving forward 1 car space at a time so im only slipping the clutch out it usually does the same, checked the airbox today and it wasnt sat on the carbs properly but ive sorted that now and it still seems to have the same problem
