I have an NC21 VFR400K yes K :), thing is when hot its ticking over at around 3k. The last time I had Carbs was my T reg escort or YPVS 20 years ago, theres no adjustment left in the throttle cable an Im not sure what other adjustment or where I should be looking so my questions are is there any similarity to other VFR400's re Carb adjustment and wheres the best place to find any info on this?
Thanks in advance
Richard.

idle adjustment.try that and set it correctly and see how it goes.the idle on a vfr400nc30 when upto temp is 1300rpm -+100rpm.
not sure entirely what it is on the 21 but it will be there abouts.#

Oooh a lovely ex training school bike :)
Check that the throttle cables are not tight and keeping the throttle open and that your choke is not sticking on, if you look at the carbs when you use the choke you'll see it moving 4 rods. Make sure they all go back in.
The carbs are quite simple to adjust.
You have an idle screw which you'll find on the left side of the carbs where the throttle cables connect, turning it clockwise increases idle, turning it anticlockwise decreases idle.
Thats the first port of call, slacken off your throttle cables and turn out the idle screw.
