cams snapping !!!
hi, snapped the inlet cam while fitting it apparently this is common anyone know any sure fire ways without them snapping? i was been so careful tightening them up but still it snapped.

i find that getting it to TDC then lining up the marks, rotate the engine over a few degree's while making sure the cam stays in the right tooth. the cam gear will want to mesh better, then evenly tighten all the bolts. reverse for taking it out.

so basically set the marks to the manual ie line up the lower engine marks and then put the cam on but then trun the engine a few degrees making sure the cam sits in the correct tooth then slowly and evenly tighten them up ?

yeah, its easer to understand once you see it done. but thats what iv'e found works best.

that worked a treat mate all done and can turn the engien its great !!! so relieved i never broke another. just need to get it bolted in and get it started.
