I don't think it would physically fit, the 400 is a tight squeeze around the frame rails.
Big v-twins will fit.

to be honest, i have never understood peoples obsession for sticking bigger engines under the 400 frame. if you want a bigger more powerful engined bike, get a bigger bike.
i can see from the point of view maybe of someone doing it for all the challenges that goes along with it and the technical know how to get there, as maybe a side project to having a road going 400 engined nc30.
its a spritey little bike and riden well can keep up with the bigger bikes that are not ridden so well on the roads, no need for the extra 400ccs.
but in answer to your question, i have no idea. wouldnt imagine so. the 400 frame leaves little room as is with its own engine squeezed in. if no one here knows exactly, try contacting someone off ebay selling the engine. they may be helpful enough to get the dimentions for you, including engine mounting points etc

seen a vfr750 motor in one but why?
its not just the engine that makes it faster you know? you'll upset all the handling and to be honest the nc35-30 ain't the lightest bike is it?
itn only dawned on me a short while ago that the new GSXR1000 and presume modern upto date superbikes are lighter than the rvf400 <in standard trim>
if i were you go buy a VFR800 it would prob be cheaper

In reality the NC30/35 are quite a bit lighter than the modern sportsbikes. Mine was 180,5 kg (when it was all standard, bar an endcan) fully fuelled and ready to go.
According to the papers that actually weight bikes they test a 600 is about 190 and the 1000 one or two kilos under 200 in the same conditions.
A lot of lies about weight!
